I have been experimenting with mobile phone advertising, which is basically buying ads on smart phones like iphones & droids. This is something brand new and really powerful.
Here is how it could work for a restaurant.
On the slow nights these small ads appear on mobile phones within 20 miles of the location. They can be targeted not only by location, but by demographics so that the ad only shows to people 21 to 50 years of age for example. When they click on the ad they can be sent to a small mobile web version of the site, or a google map to the restaurant, or even a digital coupon.
They won’t have to print out the coupon, the phone IS the coupon!
This could work for any business that relies on walk-ins or call-ups & will be the third wave of the internet revolution for business. The first wave was the dot com boom, the second wave was (or still is) social media like Facebook, Twitter & Youtube.
Wild Goose Web Design is jumping on this now. With nearly 5 billion wireless devices in the world this is going to be huge.
