Rick does an amazing job of capturing the entire life cycles of his subjects. Many of the moose he photographs he has known for years as he watched them mature, and he even has names for some of them. The loon photographs include many parenting behaviors including feeding the young and “back riding” where newborn chicks ride on the parent’s back. Truly remarkable.

Step back a century and enter the unhurried life of a country estate. Built in 1891, The Fells was the summer home of Secretary of State John Milton Hay. The 22-room Colonial Revival main house welcomed three generations of the Hay family and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
